How many swingarm dust-seal caps are included and required?

Two metal caps are included, one for each side of the swingarm pivot on one compatible motorcycle. They replace Honda OEM 52144-283-010 in quantity two.

Do the metal swingarm caps replace the internal seals and bushings?

No. They cover the ends of the pivot assembly. Inspect the internal dust seals, bushings or bearings, pivot bolt and lubrication separately.

What should be checked before installing the new caps?

Remove corrosion and debris from the seating areas, confirm the pivot has no excess play and install each cap squarely without deforming its edge.
