How is the correct spring hose-clamp size selected?

Ten clamps are included. Each clamp measures approximately 9.2mm inside diameter when relaxed and opens to about 11.2mm; measure the outside diameter of the hose while it is installed over the fitting, not just the hose's nominal inside diameter.

Should the clamp sit on the hose beside or behind the fitting barb?

Position it over the fitting's sealing or barb area without hanging off the hose end. The clamp should apply even tension without cutting the hose, bottoming fully open or sitting loose when released.

Can these spring clamps be used on any fuel, oil or coolant hose?

No. Confirm the clamp range, hose material, fitting design, temperature and system pressure are compatible. Replace hardened or cracked hose and pressure- or leak-test the connection before service.
