1984 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk · Front Wheel Bearings & Seals Buying guide
Two bearings are specified per front wheel, while one seal kit contains two pieces. Both selections have an explicit 1983–85 CB650SC front-wheel application; check the installed wheel if it has been replaced.
The front bearing is a Japanese-made 6302-2RS. Two bearings are specified for the front wheel, and the order quantity must reflect the number being replaced. Check the bearing identification and actual hub before buying, particularly if the motorcycle has a non-original wheel.
The two-piece front wheel seal kit is listed for the 1983–85 CB650SC and made in Japan by an OEM supplier. Treat the seals as their own part of the job. Compare the fitted wheel and follow the appropriate service manual for bearing and seal installation details.
Honda’s late-CB650SC manual calls for new bearings after removal. Allow for replacement before dismantling the hub, even when the removed bearings appeared usable.
The bearing has its own two synthetic seals, while kit 27-9019 supplies the separate two front-wheel seals. Those are distinct components and orders. Inspect the wheel’s external sealing arrangement independently instead of deleting that service item because the replacement bearing is sealed.
That requires checking the fitted hub, bearing identification and seal dimensions against its own specifications. The CB650SC application supports the listed front wheel arrangement, but does not establish compatibility with an unknown wheel conversion.
