1982 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk · Carb Holders & Clamp Planning Buying guide

Check the holder reference and separate clamp requirement

The set replaces 16211-460-770. Its notes specify 50–52mm band clamps or the identified gear-clamp alternative, with eight clamps in the described arrangement. Use the actual installation and clamp condition to prepare the complete order.

Keep the holder package distinct from the clamps

Four holders are supplied in the set. The clamp notes describe a separate purchase, so inspect the old clamps before deciding which supporting pieces to order. Do not assume a four-holder package is a complete holder-and-hardware kit.

Verify altered carburetor arrangements directly

Different carburetors or modified intake connections can change the required holder and clamp fit. Compare the actual components before relying on the original model application. Use the appropriate service procedure and final checks for the fitted induction system.

Carb Holders & Clamp Planning questions

Can new holders alone cure an intake leak or poor running?

Check the carburetor and engine connections, clamp condition and rack alignment as well as the rubber. Seat the holders squarely, check for intake leaks and synchronize the carburetors using the correct service procedure. New rubber cannot correct damaged mating parts or unsuitable clamps.

Which clamp specification is listed?

The notes identify 50–52mm band clamps or the specified gear-clamp alternative. Eight clamps are called for in the described arrangement, and they are ordered separately.

Should all old clamps be replaced automatically?

Inspect their condition and verify the required type and size. The holder set’s availability does not prove every clamp is worn, but unsuitable or missing clamps must be addressed in the repair.
