How many brake-caliper piston sealing rings are included?

One hydraulic piston seal replacing Honda OEM 45215-533-004 is included for one compatible caliper piston. Use one new seal for every piston bore being rebuilt.

Is the piston seal the same as the external dust boot?

No. The square-cut hydraulic seal contains brake pressure and retracts the piston slightly; any separate dust boot protects the exposed piston area.

What should be checked during caliper-seal replacement?

Inspect the piston, bore and seal groove for corrosion or scoring, lubricate with brake-compatible fluid, fully bleed the system and hold pressure while checking for leakage before riding.
