Frequently Asked Questions

How many CB350, CB360, CB550 or 1979-1982 CB650 clutch friction plates are included and required?

One friction plate is included. Eight are required for each listed CB350 or CB360; seven for the 1979-1982 CB650 family and 1974-1975 CB550K; and six for the listed CB550F and 1976-1978 CB550K.

Which Honda clutch friction plate does part 39-1079 replace?

It replaces Honda OEM 22201-286-010. The early 1968 CB350K and CL350K fitment begins at engine serial 1072431; check the engine number before ordering eight.

How should a new clutch friction plate be prepared and checked?

Coat or soak the plate in the same motorcycle engine oil specified for the clutch before assembly, following the Honda service procedure. Measure the complete stack, inspect the steel plates and preserve the required plate order and orientation.
