2002 Honda CB900F 919 · Fuel-Tank Mounting Buying guide
This 2002 919 selection supplies the front tank-holder cushion, reference 17611-425-000. The two front rubbers support the tank against the frame. Inspect the supports and the rear mounting arrangement before assuming new front rubber will resolve every loose-tank symptom.
The 919 uses fuel injection. These rubbers support the tank; they do not seal a fuel hose, pump connection or filler cap. A fuel smell or wet connection needs the correct fuel-system inspection before the motorcycle is used, even if the tank also has worn supports.
Use the Honda procedure for the tank fitted to the motorcycle. Identify the rear pivot, support stays and stopper cable before moving it. Support the tank as instructed and avoid stretching attached hoses or wiring while inspecting its mounts.
Consult the applicable Honda tank-access procedure before starting. Identify how the tank is supported during inspection and keep the fuel connections undisturbed unless the required procedure specifically calls for their removal.
Not by itself. The front cushions and rear mounting parts serve separate positions. Inspect where the movement occurs, including the rear bracket and its rubbers, before deciding which parts the repair needs.
Compare its front mounting interface and rear supports directly. A replacement tank can retain the standard 919 arrangement or use different brackets and cushions. Buy by the actual mounting design rather than the tank’s external shape.
