Frequently Asked Questions

What are the dimensions and Honda reference for this shift-shaft oil seal?

The Japanese-made seal measures 12.5 x 25 x 8mm and replaces Honda OEM 91204-425-003. Do not substitute the 14 x 28 x 7mm shift-shaft seal used on different Honda engines.

How many 91204-425-003 seals are included and required?

One seal is included, and one is required at this shift-shaft oil seal location on one compatible engine.

What installation checks help prevent a new oil seal from leaking?

Identify and correct shaft play, wear grooves, crankcase pressure or a blocked breather before installation. Protect the seal lip from splines and sharp edges, lubricate it as specified and install it squarely with the sealing lip facing the direction shown in the Honda service procedure.
