Frequently Asked Questions

Which Honda cam-chain tensioner is included?

One genuine Honda made-in-Japan cam-chain tensioner is included. It replaces OEM 14500-425-020, 14500-425-010 and 14500-425-000 on the listed DOHC CB750 and CB900 applications.

Can a new cam-chain tensioner correct every chain noise?

No. Noise can also come from a stretched chain, worn guides, incorrect timing or other valvetrain wear. Inspect the complete cam-drive system rather than replacing the tensioner alone by assumption.

What must be verified after installing the DOHC cam-chain tensioner?

Set tension and cam timing exactly to the Honda service procedure, rotate the engine carefully by hand and recheck all timing marks before startup.
