Frequently Asked Questions

What chain size and tooth count does front sprocket 23-0401 use?

It is one 18-tooth steel front sprocket for a 530 chain and cross-references Honda OEM 23801-300-620 on the 1972-1976 CB750K.

Can a 530 front sprocket be used with a 630 chain or rear sprocket?

No. The front sprocket, rear sprocket and chain must use the same pitch; 530 and 630 drivetrain components cannot be mixed.

What should be checked when replacing the front sprocket?

Inspect the chain and both sprockets as a wear set, confirm chain length and adjustment range and tighten and retain the sprocket hardware by the Honda service procedure.
