1976 Honda CB750A · Camshaft Drive Parts Buying guide

Identify each part of the Hondamatic cam drive

The guide roller, chain guide and cam sprocket are separately listed replacements for the 1976–78 CB750A. Match the component location and reference first, then check the associated rubber cushions and fasteners.

Build a component-by-component repair list

Inspect the guide roller, chain guide and adjoining supports before building the order. The linked roller-shaft cushions come as a two-pack, and the linked cam-sprocket flange bolts as a set of two. Compare those packages with the small parts your repair actually needs.

Choose the joining link from the chain identification

The D.I.D. 219T (LJ) rivet-link listing specifies replacement chain 52-3027 and warns that it may not fit older original chains. Confirm the fitted chain before adding a link; the CB750A model name alone does not identify the link dimensions.

Common buying questions

Is the featured guide roller genuine Honda?

Yes. The featured roller is a genuine Honda component covering the 1976–78 CB750A. That manufacturer identification applies to the roller; compare the separate guide and sprocket by their own replacement references.

Are the roller-shaft rubber cushions sold as a pair?

Yes. The linked package supplies two roller-shaft rubber cushions for the 1976–78 CB750A. Compare both cushions during inspection, then check the adjoining pins, collar and roller separately.

Can a replacement joining link be used on the original cam chain?

Do not assume so. The D.I.D. 219T (LJ) link is specified for chain 52-3027, and its listing warns that later dimensional changes may prevent use with older original chains. Identify the chain before selecting the link.
