Hello,
I met my friend Russ 24 years ago shortly after he moved from the UK to come and work on the same nursing unit as me. We hit it off right away and unfortunately he passed away almost 3 years ago due to cancer. He and Maria willed this bike to me knowing that I’d be the one to get it running again after sitting for almost 5 years.
Luckily I found a young mechanic here in town to give me a hand and he pointed me towards your website where I found everything needed to get it running again. We rebuilt the forks, carbs, measured and replaced all the valve shims, replaced the petcock, numerous gaskets and seals, cleaned and sealed the tank, new shocks as well as a new speedo, seat and chopped the rear fender.
Every time I take Russ’s Rocket out for a spin it feels like he’s along for the ride :) Thanks so much for making all these vintage parts available!
