Hello,

I Bought this beast from my brother-in-law in 2002 after seeing it in his shop while it was being serviced for the 2nd owner after trailering it up from TX after 10 years of storage in 2001. The owner had a small accident in which he broke 5 ribs on railroad tracks, the bike was finished, handle bar out of place, scratched exhaust and broken mirror and turn signal, no biggie.

The bike came up for sale and I made a deal for $1500, he replaced the tires and I replaced the grips and mirrors. This bike was a daily rider April to Sept.,in Southeast PA until my hip gave up in 2018, I'm 59 now. I gave it a custom seat, 2004, and custom paint, 2005, cross drilled rotors in 2014 and a AMG battery in 2018. Along the way the rear master cylinder froze, the rear final drive was discovered to have been damaged by an over zealous guy with an air gun, fortunately I found a guy on a mountain top in Montana with an 83 1000 that sold me all the parts I needed. I had to have the carbs rebuilt in 2017, ethanol is a bear.

This bike still runs a solid 105 MPH in the quarter mile and, if you got the arms, will hit 135 MPH, according to the radar gun. Did I ride it all over? NO, it was my daily rider that allowed me some kicks and grins along the way, though I would take off for a day of fun here and there. The local Honda dealer, now retired, loved this bike, thought it was the best bike Honda ever built, and I let him take it out for a ride when I had it in for service.

David
